Our heroes are hot on the trail of that damn deceitful Aiwei, However away from the protection of Zaofu they put themselves at risk of the hunters becoming the hunted!

I'm the OP, I got crossed up in the time I made the thread. I actually did it before this Book. Thank my sleep pattern being completely fucked up. The episode will go live on Friday and yes if you use adblock you won't get ads, but if you want to bolster the web numbers consider whitelisting www.nick.com/korra if anything to prove to Nick how retarded they've been with their handling of the show post Book 1.
I thought Zaheer instantly learning Korra's location was bullshit and was never gonna be explained, now it makes perfect sense. Kinda clever, actually.
So did anyone get ahold of the wanted poster and what it said? Because previous ones have had interesting tidbits like the sinicization (or whatever the reverse of romanization is called) of the names, even if they can be really inconsistent about it. Like, I would expect to see Bolin's name showing up as something like 波林 based on phonetics, even if 林 is usually a girl's name and Lin Beifong already has it.
Wonder if the Red Lotus has any basis in Taoism. Their philosophy sounds to the West like libertarianism/anarchism but I'm pretty sure there's a bunch of Eastern philosophies which advocate similar stuff, I just can't remember which ones of them.
Mako seems to be holding up his share pretty well as of late. The people who still feel the need to hate him after the relationship drama's been long over and done with and he's found a spot as "the smart one" have serious issues with letting shit go.
>>117666 >>117667 I've always liked Mako (it's been a difficult journey) and as glad as I am about how he's been treated I'm not quite reassured yet. Bryke were able to semi-revive the love triangle with a 10 second scene, they could do it again.
>>117669 Could but I think its best he just move on, not for other ships or anything but just for his own arc and maybe being Top Detective or whatever by the end of things.
>>117669 As someone who's been mostly meh about Mako from the getgo, and admitted he hit some lows in Book 1, I always thought most of the hate was ridiculously overblown. I have no idea why people feel the need to look for an excuse to hate characters like that even when it has nothing to do with shipping, like the time I saw people making up shit about how Jotaro Kujo being a raging misogynist pig and abusive dad who doesn't care about his daughter. Why? Does it make them feel better about themselves? Is it projection? And the weird correlation of rabid Mako hate with over-the-top Asami/Korrasami circlejerking doesn't help either.
>>117671 >Is it projection? I would say that's a leading factor. A lot of girls saw their exes who hurt them in Mako, and a lot of guys saw him as the cool jackass that the girl always falls for while ignoring the sweet, sincere guy (Bolin). It also didn't help that since Asami has a passive personality she didn't really react to Mako falling for Korra outside of a few shots of her looking sad and just kind of accepted the breakup in a scene that a lot of the fanbase didn't recognize as one. To a lot of people it looked like the show rewarded Mako for cheating on Asami.
I can't even imagine where half the insane hate for the show comes from. I think the Korrasami stuff is mostly in jest as the staff jokes about it a little was well. But that also riles some up.
>>117673 At this point it's ridiculous but I have seen way less complaining so far this season. Either book 3 changed some minds or the people bent on hating it stopped watching it. The most complaining I've seen is on /co/ and it's about Zaheer's motives, which were only just revealed in this episode.
At first I was pretty annoyed by how biased the show seemed to be in favor of Suyin compared to Lin. But lately I'm wondering if her anti-monarchist viewpoint extends to being against big government in general (ironic considering what she is) and maybe she's secretly an ally of the Red Lotus. Probably not a direct friend of Zaheer, but if the group is bigger than just those four and Unalaq it's possible that she's been sponsoring them or other anarchist organizations.
Mari and I were chatting away about the episode last night and we both concluded at least one thing about the rest of this Book regardless of Red Lotus' plans for Korra. The Earth Queen is absolutely fucked.
>>117677 I'm really worried about Naga, I mean I'm fucking terrified since we know that woman is an amoral monster. If anything has happened to Naga, yea its over for her. Koraa will sink that palace down to the core.
>>117678 Something bad always happens at the end of episode 10. On the other hand, it's usually later undone (Appa being taken, the invasion of the FN failing, Lin getting her bending taken, Jinora basically being put into a coma).
While the main characters were better in season 3 the villains aren't so good. Because Bryke was keeping their mission secret we know very little about them other than their powers. By contrast both Unalaq and Amon were more fleshed out because their goals were presented early on so their characters could be more developed.
I'm also unsure if a group dedicated to creating chaos is going to be that interesting. Unless they know of a powerful spirit that can destroy all social structures they have no real chance of success.
>>117703 It's possible they'll be developed more throughout the series. Books 3 and 4 were conceived as two parts of a whole from the getgo, whereas with 1 and 2 they had to hastily wrap everything up within the 12 episodes.
>>117731 At this point I'm wondering if it's incompetence or willful sabotage for whatever reason. Maybe the Nick execs have some sort of personal grudge against Bryke or something. Or maybe the Spongebob execs give them better BJs. To go as far as thinking they're racist misogynists who hate it because it has a strong brown "woman of color" though, is a bit much.
So first Nick accidentally releases eps 3-6 early, now they've released ep 10. So they haven't been able to release 5/13 episodes on time. I wonder how long it will be before they accidentally release the season finale.
Anyone got a link to the leaked episode in high quality? I'm still planning on watching the episode when it comes out tomorrow but I want to know what happens before I get spoiled any worse than I already have.
